Online Flight Check-in

I arrived at Penang International Airport rather early
at 8am, while the flight will only depart at 10.30am.
I came early to have B'fast and also check-in early to
get the seat of my choice. When I arrived, the
Check-in counter was closed. It only open 15 minutes
later at 8.15am, and I was among the early people to
check in. When I enquire for the Sin-LA flight to get
Seat # 31 or 34, the lady at the check-in counter said
it was full, hymm.. this is strange, so early(flight
will depart from Sin at 4pm) and full already, ok,
never mind, just give me any isle seat, I exclaim. It
is also full sir, she said again, Huh!!??? I was dumb
struck...

In disbelive, I asked, so early full already? this is
strange? she then said that out of the 170 seats, 90
has check-in already... wow... I said, this is really
early.. I got a miserable window seat and I was
beginning to suspect that SIA has a new online
check-in. I did not pay too much attention to it
after that.

Not till when I arrived, one of my old manager shouted
for my attention, Hey... I said, and we started
talking, and I told him about the seat thing, and he
said he check-in last night... through phone... He
tried online, but it did not work, well, the last
travel I had was a year ago... and many things has
changed since...

Now I know what to do for the returning fight...

Ops got to run for the flight, boarding now...

Digital Prints

I went over to BJC last night to have some photos printed (from http://sweetsour.uni.cc/galleries/thumbnails.php?album=12 ). I asked some of my friends here in office they told me that the cheapest that we can get for 4R digital print here in Penang is about RM0.45 per piece.  However, he doesn’t know where it was.  Since I was quite in a hurry, and I didn’t want to or rather lazy to scout around, I just went to a photo shop that I know in BJC, the ground floor Kodak Photo Shop that is in the middle (literally) of the complex.  It cost Rm0.60 per piece, quite a lot more than the cheapest price, but since I am only printing a few, I didn’t mind.  It only took a hour to get the photos developed and we paid RM4.00 for one of the photo to be blown up to 5R.  Notice the huge price difference between 4R & 5R.  However, the photos did not turn up as expected.  The shop pretty much adjusted the contrast and color a little and that resulted red blemishes (like rashes) to appea

The search for Rechargeable Batteries

With the new camera, I need to get new rechargeable batteries. I did some digging and found the highest mAh is 2500mAh and the fastest charger is 15 minutes. I have not decided which to buy yet. Energizer Energizer have a few kind of chargers, the 15min charger, the 30min charger, the car charger and the regular chargers. The energizer web site is rather rich in information, especially on how rechargeable batteries work . There are also information on other batteries types and also how to care for your batteries and a whole heap of batteries information. Best battery site I have seen, with nice cartoonist illustration and animation. The Technical Information is available, but it was not detailed enough for my liking, and this is the only drawback that the site has. As I was browsing through the blogger communities, there are a lot of people who has plenty of Gmail invite to give away, but they in turn request for people to do funny things, like wet T'shirt contest, money, photo of self taken with the web address written on a paper... design of banners, etc...
